today we met with the leasholder of site, and it has now been confirmed that the £2,000 unlimited national banger event scheduled on 22nd november will still be going ahead as planned.

We thank all for their patience in this instance, and it has been a challenging week for us to keep you the meeting, with a lot of strings being pulled to enable this to go ahead.

What people have failed to realise, is that planning issues on other parts of Matchams site sometimes hampers the day to day running of certain operations, we have negotiated and overcome these issues, and will be putting the meeting on as scheduled.

Planning has restricted the stock car use, and we will not be running in December.

The new season will restart at the end of March 2009.

I can also confirm that the 2008 'Rookie banger' World championship has been bought forward to run alongside the unlimited open, and will be running on the 22nd November at Ringwood.

this means that gates will open from 2pm, racing at 6pm.

drivers for both the unlimited National banger event and Rookie banger world are asked to book in asap on 07952 858 805

kind regards
the ringwood team

NEWS 12/10/08

It has come to our attention that drivers are not building their cars to the correct specification regarding the fixing of door plates on the drivers door.

Please Note that this is what helps to keep your driver cell safe and we need to be proactive with this situation now that we have found the problems with door plates coming off! or not doing their job properly.

As of todays date 13th October 2008 drivers will not be allowed to race if the following are not rectified!

1) all door plates must not go anymore than 6" past the a post or b post.
2) all door plates must have suitable size bolts to connnect them to the car through the a and b pillar and into the skins of drivers door, wing and rear door.
3) a minimum of 6 bolts are to be used of adequate size, we recommend bolts big enough to take a 24mm spanner to do them up!!!
4) a minimum of 2" square washers to be used inside of the skins to prevent bolts and washers pulling through the skin.

point 4 is the problems that we see with the plates moving, when you drill the holes, drivers are not putting adequate size washers on the inside and bolts are pulling and tearing through the bodywork.

I would appreciate that you see we are trying to safeguard the driver and be proactive, i understand that connecting through the a and b pillar is sometimes hard due to wiring etc... but this is safety that we are talking about.

please keep all bolts short and as flat to the bodywork as possible.
