Junior Rookie Rules and Specs 2011

NEW RULE AMMENDMENT

It is the responsibility of the Driver to adhere to the following:

All wheels must have the correct amount and correct type of wheel nuts fitted to all wheels, e.g. steel wheel nuts for steel wheels and alloy nuts for alloy wheels. Any after market wheels will need to have been advised from manufacturer.

The correct amount of wheel nuts for the wheels MUST be fitted to the wheel at all times, this includes that your car must have wheel nuts correctly torque prior to scruitineering and during racing. You will have to sign at scrutineering to say that you have correctly identified and torque your wheels to the correct setting.

It is the drivers responsibility to check the torque settings of your wheel fitments and we recommend checking the auto data technical book or auto data direct or the manufacturer of your vehicle to obtain the torque rench settings for the vehicle you intend to use.

Should you change a wheel during racing it is the drivers responsibility to notify us immediately once work is complete and you will have to sign again to say that the you have correctly torque your wheels to the correct settings.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ANY CAR PRESENTED FOR SCRUITINEERING OR PRE/POST RACING WITHOUT CORRECT WHEEL NUTS WILL BE LOADED AND NOT ALOUD TO RACE

The standard build is as the Adult Rookie Banger Formulas but with these additions:

age is restricted from 11yrs minimum to 16 years maximum. (if your 17th Birthday falls in season you will be able to continue racing in 2011) However if you race an adult banger or rookie banger formula you will not be able to race the junior rookie class.

However the cc of the vehicle must not exceed 1398cc 12 Valves maximum.

STRICTLY NO HONDA CIVICS OR NISSAN SUNNY

No engine swaps permitted unless within manufacturers range.

Drivers must have a 5 point harness to include crutch strap and to be 3"wide minimum and be of the lever or aircraft buckle type. Proban Overalls are compulsary

corner plates are compulsory from the scuttle panel to wing top of no more and no less than 9 inches scuttle and 9 inch wing top and be a minimum of 18 gauge and a maximum of 3mm in thickness.

a 12" deep minimum door bar in depth to have 1 A and 1 B post bolt fixings and a further 4 bolts in the drivers door to be a minimum of 19mm headed bolts and must have securing washers both on the outside of the door bar and inside prior to the nut being fixed, these washer plates must be no smaller than 4" square with hole in the center of the plate washers, and no slotted door bars allowed.

padding to both the steering column and b post at drivers side is compulsory using foam padding fixed with zip tiees and tape.

no racing seats allowed.

H frames must be of fully adjustable type extending to both driver and passanger b post.

2 door cars the H frame must bolt through driver door bar and passenger door bars.

Passenger wing to passenger door must be bolted to both wing and door skin and 1 bolt through the A post, additionally the same on the passenger B post. this will mean a minimum and maximum of 5 bolts per guts plate.

No other bolting other than 1 bolt in the rear doors is allowed.

bonnet and boots must be secured shut by seat belt strap only.

Batterys must be moved inside of the car as per the adult rookie rules.

Normal rookie rules will apply, and there will be strictly NO turning to the wall or following another car to the fence, i.e NO FOLLOWINS! this will result in you being banned from the formula if you ignore this.

These rules will be strictly adhered to on the next junior rookie meeting on the 1st Jan 2011.

REMEMBER if its not in the rules you cant do it!!!!!!

All drivers must be Signed on by 17:30 at the latest (on a Saturday meeting) or you will be charged an additional £5.00 to race and also forfeited any prize monies won, we are having to adopt this rule as drivers continually turn up late and hold the meeting up.
